A traditional forwarder gives you one company's rates. FIDS is a marketplace you compare live rates from multiple verified agents side by side, on the same route, before you book. You choose who to work with instead of being locked into a single provider.
What types of freight can I book on FIDS?
FIDS covers seafreight, airfreight, and road freight, across both domestic and cross-border (international) services. You can filter by mode of transport, service type, country, and route to find exactly what you need.
How do I search for a freight rate?
Use the search bar to set your country, service type, mode of transport, from-city, to-city, and (optionally) a maximum price. Hit Search, and FIDS will show you live listings from agents currently serving that route, with pricing, cargo type, and estimated transit time (ETA).
How do I book a shipment?
Once you find a rate that fits, click "Book Now" on that listing. You'll be connected directly with the agent to confirm details and move your shipment forward.
Can I ship within a single country, not just cross-border?
Yes. FIDS lists both domestic routes (for example, city to city within one country) and cross-border/international routes, so you can use it for local and long-haul freight alike.
How accurate are the ETAs shown on listings?
ETA is provided by the agent based on their typical transit time for that route and mode of transport. Confirm exact timing with the agent when you book, especially for time-sensitive cargo.
How do I become a verified agent on FIDS?
Freight agents can apply through the "Become a Verified Agent" link. Postkodes reviews applications before approving agents to list live rates on the marketplace.
